The non-commercial cinema space located in the residential building opened its doors in 1963. It is the oldest still operating cinema in the city of Vilnius, where special attention is paid to the cinema of Lithuania and European countries, classics are presented, retrospectives, thematic cycles and other events are held.
In 2007 „Skalvija” film academy was established in the film center. Here, high school students learn to make films, deepen their knowledge of film theory and history.
